community projects
At Coventry Vineyard we seek to express the love and compassion of God to people in practical ways. On the first Sunday of the month, we take church out into the community and our neighbourhoods with community projects.
One of our current community projects has involved making up Easter boxes and taking them to residents of the Coventry Cyrenians hostel in time for Easter. This will bring some Easter cheer and yummy food for those may may be struggling otherwise. Phone the office on 024 7627 8669 or talk to your housegroup about what we have planned. Go on, come and get your hands dirty!

"I'm going to make it a brighter place With my own two hands I'm going to make it a safer place With my own two hands I'm going to help the human race With my own two hands" -Jack Johnson
Some of our previous projects have included:
Washing the cars of neighbours down a street. Giving out water bottles in hot weather. Completely renovating a garden by removing weeds and laying a lawn. Decorating houses. Removing litter from the streets. Running a drop-in café. Giving out free pencil cases for schoolchildren. Cleaning toilets. Giving out chocolate. Taking food parcels to people referred by Sure Start. Cleaning windscreens. Cleaning a local pub. Carol singing and giving out more chocolate! Visiting older folks in residential homes. Painting garage doors in a local neighbourhood. Digging a vegetable patch in a local school. Paying for parking at the new University hospital! Providing Christmas presents and food for homeless families.
We want to surprise people with God’s extravagant generosity. We want to be the kind of people who bring heaven on earth.
